Four teens arrested for carjacking and attempted robberies in Nashville Friday night

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) - Metro's Juvenile Crime Task Force arrested 4 teenagers for a series of attempted robberies and a carjacking that all took place in the space of 5 hours Friday night.

Police identify the suspects as Adam Mohamed, 17, Sakariy Mohamed, 17, Jamal Abdillahi, 19, and Amir Adam, 19.

Officers went to the Sheffield Heights Apartments Friday evening around 5 p.m. after a woman was carjacked in the parking lot. Two teens who claimed they had a gun took her car keys and took off in her black BMW, heading toward Elm Hill Pike.

Police say three attempted robberies involving teens in a car with similar descriptions took place starting at 9:10 p.m. First, a man sitting outside on Apache Train was approached by two young men demanding money. He told them he didn't have any money but offered his phone up. He got punched in the fact and the pair took off empty-handed.

Ten minutes later, a gunman approached three women sitting in a car on Tusculum Road. He demanded money at gunpoint. Police say one of the women screamed. The gunman ran away with nothing.

15 minutes later, two suspects went to Discount Tobacco and Beer on Nolensville Pike, demanding money at gunpoint. Police say the cashier was unable to open the register. A second employee was pistol-whipped.  Both suspects ran away, but not before a shot was fired. No one was hurt.

At 9:45 p.m. officers found the BMW empty on West Iris Drive. They spotted four suspects climbing a fence, chased them and arrested them.

Police say Adam Mohamed and Sakariy Hohamed admitted their involvement in the carjacking. They are charged with aggravated robbery in Juvenile Court.

When officers talked with Jamal Abdillahi they say he admitted to the tobacco store attack. He's now charged with attempted aggravated robbery, vehicle theft, evading arrest and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He's in jail with bond set at $113,000.

Amir Adam is charged with car theft, evading arrest and contributing to delinquency. He's out on $3,500 bond.  Adam is also out on bond for a March arrest on drug and handgun charges.
