Former Nashville serial bank robber arrested again for recent robberies

Police have arrested a man they said is responsible for multiple bank robberies.  

According to Metro police, Timothy Weakley was arrested Wednesday and charged for allegedly robbing or attempting to rob banks four separate occasions.  

Detectives said they believe he is responsible for Wednesday’s robbery at Regions on Rivergate Pkwy, Tuesday’s robbery at Regions on Nolensville Pike, Tuesday’s attempted robbery at SunTrust on Charlotte Avenue, and the Oct. 4 robbery at Regions on Murfreesboro Pike. 

Police said they spotted Weakley’s getaway car as he was driving away from the Rivergate area. He was followed by police helicopter to an apartment complex on Oak Valley Drive where he was arrested. 

Weakley was previously arrested and prosecuted 12 years ago for a series of bank robberies in Nashville.

According to detectives, he registered as an ex-con with MNPD in April 2017. Police said he will be charged federally again in this case.
