A Maryville man is in custody Friday on allegations that he committed child porn offenses.

A federal grand jury returned a four-count indictment against 29-year-old George Robert Everhart on June 19. He was arrested Friday.

Counts one and two of the indictment allege that Everhart used two minors, ages 7 and 10, to produce and attempt to produce child pornography.

The indictment also alleged that Everhart distributed child porn in interstate commerce and that he possessed child porn depicting minors who had not reached 12 years of age.

If convicted on the charges, the 29-year-old faces the minimum mandatory 15 years and up to 30 years in prison, at least five years to life of supervised release, a $250,000 fine, and forfeiture and a $5,100 assessment per count.

His trial date is set for Aug. 28, 2018.
