A convicted felon was arrested Wednesday night after police said he robbed stores in west and south Nashville. He’s also the suspected robber in a rash of other Nashville robberies.

Detectives said 29-year-old convicted robber and drug dealer, Terrell D. Stevenson, robbed a Dollar General store in the 700 block of Old Hickory Boulevard in west Nashville a little after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and fled in a silver Honda Civic.

Police said a little after 9 p.m. that same night, Stevenson robbed a Mapco store in the 15000 block of Old Hickory Boulevard in south Nashville.

Officers said after the second robbery, they deployed to gas stations on Old Hickory Boulevard in case he struck again. They said an officer spotted the Honda at Old Hickory Boulevard and Edmondson Pike a short time after the Mapco robbery and attempted to stop it.

According to a release, the car sped away and the pursuit was called off.

A short time later, just as the Honda exited I-40 at 28th Avenue, an unmarked officer got behind them.

When the Honda stopped at a red light at the bottom of the exit ramp, police said they boxed the Honda in on all sides and arrested Stevenson along with his alleged getaway driver, 32-year-old Martha Coleman.

Officers said Coleman is being charged as an accomplice in the Dollar General robbery along with two counts of felony evading arrest, aggravated assault and driving on a revoked license. Her bail was set at $230,000.
