A 19-year-old pulled over for speeding Sunday night was arrested on drug charges following the discovery of THC vape pens in his vehicle, authorities say.
Muhamad Faraj was booked Monday morning into the Metro jail on felony drug charges.
According to an arrest affidavit, an officer pulled over a vehicle for speeding and failing to stay in the proper lane, though the specific location was not disclosed.
Police said they discovered marijuana in the lap of the driver, identified in court documents as Faraj.
When officers asked Faraj if he had any other illegal substances in the vehicle, they said the teenager handed over 26 THC vape pens that contained 85 to 90-percent THC oil.
A large amount of cash was reportedly found hidden in the roof of the vehicle.
Faraj admitted he would buy the pens for $18 and sell them for $40, police said.
The suspect was released from jail around 5 a.m. Monday on a $5,000 bond.
