An employee at a South Nashville laundromat is credited with helping to capture two men accused of breaking into the business over the weekend and trying to steal money from a change machine.

Metro police were called around 5:30 a.m. Sunday to a laundromat on East Thompson Lane near Whitsett Park where an employee stated he showed up for work and observed two men inside with flashlights.

The employee told officers he saw the burglars get into a blue Chevy Cavalier parked at a neighboring car wash.

When officers arrived, they said the Chevy Cavalier was still parked at the car wash and the men inside matched the suspect descriptions provided.

During a search of the vehicle, police said they found burglary tools, including a crowbar, saw, hammers, pry bars, bolt cutters and screwdrivers.

A crack pipe was also found in Wayne’s pants, police said.

When officers searched the business, they said they found a damaged change machine.

Craig Wayne, 43, and Scott Fyke, 33, were arrested on charges of burglary and possession of burglary tools.

Wayne was also charged with drug possession, as well as criminal impersonation for reportedly providing officers with a fake name.
