Two firefighters are in custody after a theft investigation by Metro police.

According to a release, Nashville Fire Department firefighter/EMT Robert Reasonover and Sumner County EMT Tyler Rathert were arrested for allegedly stealing from a private ambulance service where they worked as a second job.

Police said the two are accused of logging into the accounting system of American Medical Response, the parent company of Lifeguard Ambulance Service, on numerous days in 2018 and logging hours they never worked.

According to police, the company alleges that Reasonover was fraudulently paid $10,786 and Rathert $5,991.

Reasonover and Rathert were both charged with felony theft.
