2 charged in Old Hickory liquor store burglary

Old Hickory Wine and Spirits break-in

Two men were arrested Tuesday morning in connection with a break-in at a liquor store in Old Hickory.

Charles Wilson, 47, and William Wright, 44, were charged with burglary in the case.

Metro police said someone smashed out a door and window around 11:45 p.m. Monday at Old Hickory Wine and Spirits.

Less than an hour later, officers pulled over a vehicle on Monticello Avenue that matched the description of the vehicle involved in the burglary.

Inside of the vehicle, police said they found bottles of vodka taken from the liquor store during the burglary along with a sledgehammer that matched the one shown in surveillance video being used to break into the business.

Wilson, the driver, and Wright, his passenger were both taken into custody, authorities said.

Both men were held on a $10,000 bond. They are expected in court Thursday.
