SODDY-DAISY, Tenn. (AP) – Crews have resumed searching a Tennessee Lake for wreckage from a small plane.
News outlets cited a statement from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office that says investigators are searching Chickamauga Lake for the downed aircraft.
Amy Maxwell is the spokeswoman for the Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security. She says the crash was reported Monday afternoon and search teams found some debris from a single-engine plane floating in the water. The search was called off Monday night due to dangerous conditions, but news outlets report it resumed Tuesday at daybreak.
The sheriff’s office says investigators are working to determine the type of plane, its pilot, its origin and destination and whether there were any passengers onboard.
