Crews battle apartment fire in Murfreesboro

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Residents were evacuated from a Murfreesboro apartment Monday morning as crews battled a fire.

According to Rutherford County Fire Rescue, crews from the county and city responded around 8 a.m. to the fire at an apartment on East Main Street near Twin Oaks and Double Springs Road.

First responders said initial reports indicated a refrigerator caught fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. 

No further details were immediately released.
