1 airlifted to hospital after Smyrna crash

SMYRNA, Tenn. (WKRN) – First responders headed to the scene of a crash on Almaville Road in Smyrna overnight Saturday into Sunday morning.

According to the Smyrna Fire Department, the crash happened between Stonewood Drive and Burnt Knob Road, shutting down Almaville Road.

Crews worked together to free a victim from the vehicle. That person was flown via Vanderbilt LifeFlight to a local hospital.

Authorities are investigating the accident and working to replace an electrical pole.
