NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A former correctional officer at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution was arrested Tuesday on allegations she had multiple sexual encounters with an inmate while working at the prison in Nashville.
Emily Davis, 22, was booked Tuesday night into the Metro jail on a charge of sex with prisoners/inmates.
According to an arrest affidavit, during an ongoing investigation by the Tennessee Department of Correction, Davis, a correctional officer at Riverbend was found to be in an inappropriate relationship with an inmate in TDOC custody via video footage and witness testimony.
The paperwork states hand-written letters addressed to the unidentified inmate were intercepted by investigators in which Davis used a pseudonym of Dawn Adams, her middle and maiden names, and listed her current living address.
In the letters, Davis wrote about a sexual encounter with the inmate on May 2 and the possibility of being pregnant, the arrest affidavit alleges.
Investigators said the inmate was interviewed on June 1 and detailed sexual intercourse with Davis on two separate occasions while she was working as a correctional officer at Riverbend.
Davis resigned from from state service in mid-May 2019.
