If you’re driving to Atlanta, you may want to avoid going through Chattanooga.
Interstate-75 is shut down in both directors near the I-24 West split. Crews are on the scene of a concrete collapse on the highway.
A section of concrete came crashing down onto I-75 and a car apparently crashed into it.
Police say one person was hurt but is expected to be okay.
TDOT says they have inspected the bridge and deemed it safe, however, both ramps will remain closed while crews put a concrete barrier rail on the I-75 ramp.
Both ramps are expected to open up later this evening.
Permanent repairs are expected to take three to four weeks to complete.
