Community Oversight Board executive director begins term

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Monday will be the first day on the job for the executive director of the Community Oversight Board.

A release from the board states that William Carlos Weeden was chosen to lead the organization.

Weeden, a criminal law and civil rights attorney in Chicago, served in a police oversight role before founding his law office.

Weeden earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Fisk University, before achieving his Juris Doctrorate from Howard University School of Law.

The Community Oversight Board was approved by voters in November. Metro Council members selected the board members in January.
