Deputy Bowen’s stepdaughter Brandi Kimbrell told News 2 that her stepfather is receiving treatment at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.

Kimbrell said the deputy is able to nod his head and he is blinking.

She described it as promising, but said Bowen is, “not out of the woods yet.”RELATED: Note taped to front door of home where escaped inmate took life

As for Deputy Bassett, his daughter-in-law said Bassett is expected to have surgery on his injured hand Tuesday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
