CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Clarksville woman faces several charges after she reportedly jumped in and out of traffic in various stages of undress with clown-like makeup.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office incident report, multiple people called 911 to report the situation Thursday.

While deputies were on the way to the scene, another woman called 911 and berated, cursed and threatened the dispatchers. Authorities say the phone number associated with the calls belonged to Candice Kreidel.

Deputies found her at the address listed for the calls and stated in their report she was wearing items of clothing similar to what was described by the previous 911 callers.

She was drinking a beer and smelled strongly of alcohol, according to the report. Deputies said she was unsteady on her feet.

The incident report stated that she also had a “considerable amount of paint of makeup about her body and face that could easily be described as clown-like.”

When asked by deputies if she made the harassing 911 calls, she confirmed she had and said she did it because they “need to do their jobs.”

When asked if she had been in the roadway jumping in front of cars and chasing after them, she denied the accusation.

She then told deputies that she had been “running around in the road,” but denied taking her clothes off.

Deputies stated in the report that they found several empty beer cans and various medication containers. They also found a multicolored clown wig, a bra and a mask of some sort.

Kreidel was charged with making 911 calls in non-emergency situations, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.News 2 is committed to tracking crime across Middle Tennessee. Visit
