FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (WKRN) – Charges were preferred against two Fort Campbell soldier’s accused in the disappearance and death of a fellow soldier.
The soldiers have been identified as Sgt. Jamal Williams-McCray and Spc. Charles Robinson, both assigned to the 101st Airborne Division.
Army officials said the charges under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) are conspiracy, premeditated murder, and kidnapping.
Both men are accused in the disappearance of Pfc. Shadow McClaine, who vanished on Sept 2. While her car was discovered two days later in Nashville, her body has not been found.
News 2 learned late last month that McCray is McClaine’s ex-husband. She disappeared three weeks before she was set to go to trial for stalking him. McCray was subpoenaed to be in court for that trial.
Both McCray and Robinson are in pre-trial confinement, pending a preliminary hearing.
Officials say the charges preferred against them will move through the legal process in accordance with the UCMJ.
Further details were not immediately released.
