Case of TB reported at Cane Ridge High School

ANTIOCH, Tenn. (WKRN) - A case of tuberculosis has been reported at Cane Ridge High School in Antioch, according to the Metro Public Health Department.

The student is receiving treatment from the health department and is not attending school.

The health department said its investigation shows the level of infectiousness of this child and the potential of spreading the germ to others is low. The health department has worked with Metro-Nashville Public Schools to identify those who were in closest contact with the child.

Those students and staff will receive a free TB test and evaluation to see if they have been exposed.

An informational meeting about TB will be held for Cane Ridge students and families on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
