Burglar targets multiple Murfreesboro businesses

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — Nima Shakibaei says his family business, Country Used Tires, was broken into by a man who climbed in through the garage and stole thousands of dollars of equipment on May 4.

“It’s kind of frustrating,” Shakibaei said.

He says the thief stole a $4,000 scanner, a camera, and money.

On May 9, a man with the same description was caught on camera trying to break into Tips and Toes nail salon on South Church Road.

The man was tall with a beard, wearing a baseball cap, t-shirt, and jeans.

“Of course, we are angry,” said Mike Shakibaei who co-owns Country Used tires with his brother.

A third business gave News 2 surveillance pictures of a man who broke into their auto shop twice.

He fit the same description.

“The same guy with the same car with the same boot,” Shakibaei said.

Mike went around to other businesses and realized the same person may be behind all the break-ins.

Murfreesboro police are investigating and trying to figure out if the cases are related.

In the meantime, Nima and Mike have stepped up security, putting up more motion sensors in case the thief comes back.

“We have to catch him,” Mike said.
