GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WKRN) – Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge draw in thousands of tourists but they also attract brides. Both cities are wedding destinations.

Lindsey Sadler, 20, was set to get married this Saturday at Cupid’s Chapel of Love in Gatlinburg.

Overnight Tuesday, the Chapel burned to the ground and Sadler’s wedding was called off.PHOTOS: Wildfires burning in East Tennessee

“I heard about the fire, but I wasn’t sure how bad it was,” she said. Lindsey lives in South Georgia.

“We were thinking it would just kind of blow over but my mom sent me a picture of the chapel saying she was sorry.”

The chapel offered to host Lindsey’s wedding at their sister property, but Lindsey and her fiancé are from out-of-state and have nowhere to stay.

Lindsey, her fiancé, and their families were set to stay at the Westgate, which was also destroyed by the fire.

Lindsey is engaged to 21-year-old Christopher Nuiman, who is in the U.S. Army. They hope to tie the knot at a local courthouse before he gets deployed.Click here to view News 2’s continuing coverage of the Sevier County wildfire.
