Body of missing man recovered from E. Tennessee lake

LAFOLLETTE, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities say they have recovered the body of an Ohio man from a lake in East Tennessee.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency tweeted Saturday that the body of 24-year-old Kevin Beyersdofer of Cincinnati was found in Norris Lake at Cedar Creek Bridge.

The agency says rescue team divers from Campbell and Anderson counties recovered the body after it was located by side-scan sonar and verified using a remote-operated vehicle.

The agency said on its Facebook page that Beyersdofer jumped into the lake near the bridge Friday afternoon from the top deck of a pontoon boat. Officials say he went under and never resurfaced.
