Body found in burning Marshall County home

MARSHALL COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) - A man was found dead following a suspicious house fire late Wednesday night in downtown Lewisburg.

Crews responded just before midnight to battle the fire on Second Avenue near Bates Street.

When firefighters arrived, they found the residence engulfed in flames and in the process of extinguishing the fire, they discovered the body of a man.

Police said the incident was being treated as a suspicious death and was under investigation by several agencies.

The identity of the victim was not released pending a positive identification.
