A Blackman Middle School teacher has been suspended for three days after an incident involving a student.
According to Rutherford County school officials, Dustin Stem is accused of an “inappropriate verbal altercation with a student during class.”
The school administration was notified of the alleged incident and investigated after receiving an audio recording of the altercation.
School administration has since reviewed the recording, interviewed students in the class and spoken with Stem.
Stem will be suspended three days without pay and must complete counseling.
School officials said he does not have a prior record of similar actions.
