COLUMBIA, Tenn. (WKRN) – Columbia police need your help Monday night in locating a burglary suspect unlike any you’ve seen.

The burglar stole two flat screen TVs and a laptop before fleeing away on a bicycle.

The whole incident, which happened Wednesday, Jan. 27, was caught on tape.

Police say the suspect kicked in the front door to a house on School Street. He was seen a short time later circling the home while carrying a 42-inch flat screen TV under his arm.

He takes off on a bicycle and turns into a nearby trailer park before returned just moments later.

Surveillance shows him leaving the house again with a 55-inch flat screen TV under his arm before returning a third time to take a touch-screen laptop.

“Clearly he has some ties there,” said Lt. Joey Gideon about the nearby trailer park. “He may have stashed the items there, but we believe he went into a home either in that trailer park or somewhere close to it.”

According to the family who lives at the home, they left at 9 a.m. and returned at 3 p.m. to find their door kicked open. Glass was everywhere.

The homeowner called 911.

The bike-riding burglar is still on the loose. Anyone with information is urged to contact Columbia police at 931-381-4900.
