NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Belmont University goalkeeper Stephanie Bukovec hasn’t allowed a single goal to be scored against her in 531 straight minutes.

The Canadian native and senior has helped lead the Bruins to the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament thanks to her outstanding goal tending.

“I’ve been playing soccer for a long time, since I was 4 years old. I absolutely love it, it’s a passion of mine and I’m glad I got the opportunity to play at a University,” said Bukovec.

Bukovec also participates in a group called Freestyle Soccer, which is self-expression with a soccer ball, while performing various tricks with any part of the body.

She even practices up to three hours a day, sometimes even in her dorm room.

“It’s very small, sometimes when it’s raining you can’t go outside, it’s hard to find a spot but my room works,” Bukovec added. “I kind move everything to the side, so I don’t break anything but there has been a few incidents, no noise complaints yet, which is good.”

Bukovec hopes to play professional soccer and is pursuing a career in social work.

Her advice to young girls who want to excel in soccer is to work hard, don’t give up and just keep going.
