Band members speak out after East Nashville shooting

Forty-eight hours after a tragic shooting claimed the lives of two people in East Nashville, band members are speaking out about one of the victims

“Brandon especially he just had this soul about him, he was always happy.” said Brian Litchford.

Metro Police say just after 3:30 a.m. on Friday morning that 33-year-old Brandon Teal and 30-year-old Jamie Sarrantonio were shot killed in the parking lot of The Cobra off of Gallatin Avenue.

“We just pray that they’re brought to justice.” said Brian Litchford.

For the past year Teal had performed in the band, Terrestrial Radio, alongside his four other band members: Josh and Magan Rish, Brian Litchford and Trent Johnston.

“Most beautiful thing about music is that when you die, your soul gets to carry on.” said Josh Rish

Band members told News 2 that Brandon had an especially unique styling to his music.

“He had a unique sound, he was a finger picker. He didn’t use a pick, his effects that he used it’ll never be duplicated.” said Trent Johnston.

Members added that for now, they’re focused on healing – but they do plan to continue creating music together, in Teal’s honor.
