ATV rider accused of dragging officer was out on bond at the time

The ATV rider accused of dragging a Metro Police officer on Broadway last month was out on bond at the time.

Metro Police say 30-year-old Walter Moss crashed into Sergeant John Borque last month when a large group of ATV and dirt bike riders illegal rode down on Broadway. The incident was caught on cell-phone video.

Sgt. Borque was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Four days later, Moss was arrested at his home in Springfield and faces six charges.

Court records show Moss was charged in Robertson County in November for assaulting an officer, resisting arrest and drug possession

Moss had also been charged in October for driving on a revoked license, evading arrest and tampering with evidence.

Moss was released on bond in both cases.

Now, Robertson County prosecutors are fighting to put him back in jail.

Robertson County Assistant District Attorney James Milam has filed a motion asking for a judge to revoke Moss’s bond to “protect the safety of the public.”

The motion will be heard April 9.
