At least 1 hurt in shooting on Gallatin Pike

Metro police are investigating after a shooting happened in front of the Taco Bell on Gallatin Pike Friday morning.  

According to police, a man opened fired on another car in front of the fast food restaurant.  

Police said the victim and suspect, who were in separate cars, had been talking to each other prior to the shooting. It’s unknown if the two parties knew each other.  

Police said after the shooting, the victim continued to drive down Gallatin Pike and flagged down an officer in front of Checkers.  

Three people were in the car that was shot at. At least one woman was injured. She was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and was last listed in stable condition.  

Police said two people inside the victim’s car were taken into custody and that a gun and drugs were one. One of the people arrested had an outstanding warrant, according to police. 

The suspect is described as a black man who was last seen driving a dark red sedan.  

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
