AMBER Alert for East Tennessee teen ends; Suspect in custody

SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn, (WJHL) – The suspect and the teen behind an AMBER alert in Northeast Tennessee are now in custody. 

A spokesperson for the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office says suspect, 52-year-old Richard Tester and 17-year-old Grace Galliher are in custody. According to the spokesperson, the teen is safe. 

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office plans to reveal more details in a news conference at 11:00 a.m.

Overnight, Virginia State Police issued an AMBER Alert for 17-year-old Grace. At the time,  VSP said they believed the teen was in  “extreme danger.”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation also joined in the search for the teen. 

Investigators believed she left her Bristol home on Tuesday and went off with the 52-year-old man. 
Tester will be charged with Aggravated Kidnapping, according to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office said Galliher and Tester were spotted at a Food City in Bristol, TN.

Then someone spotted them at a hotel in Marion, Virginia. VSP said they were ikely traveling north on Interstate 81 in a navy blue Chevrolet Trail Blazer with Tennessee tag B71-07V.
