After bitter loss, Titans look for win against Jaguars Thursday night

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – It was another bitter loss for the Titans on Sunday as they fell to the Colts for the 10th time in a row.

But there is no time to pout with the Jacksonville Jaguars headed to Nashville for a Thursday night game. It is the third straight year the Titans have played the Jaguars on a Thursday night.

Mike Mularkey has insisted this team is better than the one he took over, and some easy statistics back that up.

The Titans won only two games two years ago and only three games in 2015. A win Thursday and they would top both the seasons at the halfway point.

Mularkey will not say that makes the season a success, though.

“No, I’d say it wouldn’t be. Obviously you’d like to have a better record than that, but I kind of go back to when we were 1-3. There’s a bunch of teams at 1-3… Right now there’s a bunch of teams at 3-4 and 4-3. I’ll say it again: Somebody is going to come out of this thing at some point, and I don’t know why it can’t be us,” he explained.

The Titans and Colts are both 3-4; that’s a game and a half back of the first place Houston Texans (4-2) in the AFC South with the Texans visiting the Super Bowl Champion Broncos Monday night.

A win over the Jaguars (2-4) keeps the Titans in the thick of the race for the division crown.
