BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WKRN) — Brentwood Police are searching for a second suspect accused in a string of burglaries that happened in the River Oaks subdivision Thursday afternoon.

Investigators said two suspects are accused of burglarizing vehicles and at least one home. Additionally, Assistant Chief Richard Hickey said one of the suspects is accused of shooting a dog.

Late Thursday afternoon, Brentwood police confirmed that the dog named Gus is okay thanks to the life-saving work of a local veterinarian.

Officers arrested Kequan Lameal Waller when they first arrived on the scene. The 20-year-old from Nashville was taken into custody behind a home on Grand Oaks Drive.

They also found a .380 semi-automatic pistol near Waller when he was taken into custody.

He has been charged with theft and felon possession of a weapon. Plus, he faces pending charges.

Hickey said a stolen car out of Nashville was recovered that they believe is involved in this crime spree.

Police continue to search for the second suspect believed to be armed.

Earlier in the day police asked residents in the 500 block of Grand Oaks to shelter in place.

News 2 has confirmed with Williamson County Schools that out of extreme precaution a brief shelter in place happened at Brentwood Middle, Brentwood High, Scales Elementary. Lipscomb cancelled outdoor activities.
