NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – An abandoned building in downtown Nashville caught fire early Friday morning.

It happened near the corner of Third Avenue North and Stockyard Street at an old chrome plating business around 2:30 a.m.

Multiple crews with the Nashville Fire Department were called in to fight the blaze.

Fire officials told News 2 electricity and gas had been shut off to the building.

Third Avenue North is currently closed from Harrison Street to Stockyard Street.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but fire officials on the scene told News 2 the fire seemed suspicious.This is a developing story. Stay with News 2 and refresh this page for updates.
