A 9-year-old girl was killed early Sunday morning when she was hit by a tree at a state park outside Chattanooga.
It happened at the Foster Falls Campground in South Cumberland State Park.
State park officials said the girl died after part of a tree fell on her family’s tent.
First responders arrived at the scene just before 2 a.m.
Her father was treated for minor injuries.
No additional information was immediately released.
