Metro police are investigating after someone fired shots into a home in Antioch Saturday night, injuring an 8-year-old girl.
It happened around 10:30 p.m. at a home on Volunteer Drive, which is close to Haywood Lane.
Metro police reported the parents heard a loud boom outside and several bullets hit the house.
The girl was struck in her ear, either grazed by a bullet or hit by some shrapnel, but she did not require medical treatment, according to Metro police.
The bullet that hit the girl is believed to have traveled through a kitchen wall, an oven and a fridge before entering the girl’s bedroom.
Metro police said the shooting appears to be random and the home was not targeted.
No suspect description was immediately released.
