CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Eight people were arrested for soliciting prostitution by Clarksville police Friday.

Police said the arrests stemmed from targeting prostitution on backpage.com.

“These types of operations are ongoing with a fair warning to those that solicit prostitution online, the person on the other end of that web page just might be the police,” Captain Craig Gibson said.

The names of those arrested were not immediately released.
