This was graduation day for some future drivers. They wrapped up a week-long driving camp with the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
70 teens learned important safety skills. They got real-life experience with distracted driving, speeding and other problems that can come up on the road.
One of the graduates told us she learned a lot.
“It surprises me that so many teenagers text and drive and are distracted. I mean, I want, I want to help with that. I want to do something to make a change,” said Kalieauna Nolan.
Nolan plans to spread the message to her classmates at McEwen High School.
News 2 is partnering with THP on driving camp.
Organizers are already planning for next year’s camp.
