KATHMANDU, Nepal (WKRN) – A four-month-old baby was rescued after spending 22 hours buried in rubble in Nepal.

Sonit Awal was pulled to safety Sunday morning by the Nepalese army at 10 a.m.

His father, Shyam Awal, called rescuers after their house collapsed from Saturday’s deadly earthquake.

The army searched for the infant until Midnight Saturday night, but called off the search after coming up empty handed.

According to Kathmandu Today, the father was losing hope until he heard his son cry underneath the rubble.

The army came back Sunday morning and that’s when they found the baby boy.

He was taken to a hospital and was found to have no injuries.
