3 women robbed on side of I-65 in Robertson County

ROBERTSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Three women were robbed Wednesday night in Robertston County on the side of the interstate, according to Smokey Barn News.

News 2’s news partner Smokey Barn News originally reported this story but the information was confirmed by the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office. 

The women were helping a friend move from Madison to Portland and were hauling her furniture down I-65 around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday.They pulled over near Cross Plains to tighten the load. 

As soon as they got out, the women told detectives a dark car pulled up and two men got out. The men reportedly asked the women if they needed help and when they said “no,” the men pulled out a gun and demanded their belongings.

The women said the men stole a purse and their phones and took off.

The women drove to Sad Sam’s, a firework store and gas station, to call 911. 

At this point, there is not a clear suspect description. 

No one was injured in this suspected robbery.
