23-year-old injured in West Nashville shooting

A 23-year-old man was shot in West Nashville early Tuesday morning.  

It happened just after 2 a.m. near a home on River Rouge Court. 

Metro police reported an 18-year-old man was walking his dog when he saw a man hiding behind a vehicle.  

As he neared his home, the man ran up behind him with a handgun, according to Metro police.  

Metro police said the suspect followed him as he ran home to warn his roommates, firing shots and hit another man at the home in his arm.  

The 23-year-old victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.  

The suspect did not make any demands and drove off from the scene in a dark-colored sedan.  

The investigation is ongoing and no additional information was immediately released.
