PRINCETON, Ky. (WKRN) – Kentucky State Police is investigating a fire in Princeton, Kentucky, that killed a 2-year-old child on Friday.
The fire started around 10:30 p.m. in a travel-trailer on Bright Hill Road.
The preliminary investigation revealed Brandon Hayes, 28, was sleeping with his three children, Eric, 8, Dorian, 4, and Marley, 2, in the trailer when the fire began.
Once the fire was extinguished, Marley was found deceased inside the trailer.
Eric was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Brandon Hayes was transported to Caldwell Medical Center where he was treated and released. Dorian was uninjured.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. However, it is not suspicious in nature and foul play is not suspected.
