A 16-year-old died after he was shot in the chest outside a home in the Bellshire neighborhood Thursday night.
It happened around 9:15 p.m. at a home near Westchester Drive and Tuckahoe Square.
Metro police said Laquan Link was found outside the home with a gunshot wound to his chest.
Link was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Metro police said the suspects fled the scene in a sedan.
Oshae Stewart, 18, and 15-year-old Treyvon Palmer have been charged in Link’s homicide.
Stewart reportedly shot from the vehicle as the victim approached the car.
Police said they surrendered separately to detectives Friday morning. Police both teens refused to answer questions from detectives. Stewart is being held in lieu of a $125,000 bond. Palmer is being held at juvenile detention.
Police are still searching for the car – a 1996 maroon Infiniti. Anyone with information on the car’s location is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
A motive has not yet been determined.
Link attended Hunter’s Lane High School and would have been a junior in the fall. Family members told News 2 he loved to play sports and he always made those around him laugh and smile.
