NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The two men accused of shooting and killing a 19-year-old man during a dice game on Tennessee State University’s campus last fall both pleaded not guilty.
Chris Gatewood and Robert Tunstall entered their pleas on Wednesday.
Both men are charged with one count of first-degree murder, three counts of attempted second-degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault, among other charges.
Cameron Selmon was playing a dice game on October 22, 2015 when a fight broke out in an outside area near the president’s office.
Police said at least two men fired shots, killing Selmon and injuring three other nearby TSU students.
Gatewood and Tunstall were both arrested in Memphis earlier this month, 10 months after the deadly shooting.
News 2 has since learned that Gatewood was a student at the Nashville university at the time of the shooting, but he has not been enrolled since last fall.
Both Gatewood and Tunstall have previous criminal histories.Click here for complete coverage of the TSU shooting.
