NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – An 18-year-old was arrested late Tuesday night in the shooting death of a 16-year-old in west Nashville.
Metro police said James Jones was charged with reckless homicide in Luan Le’s Christmas Eve death.
Police reported Jones admitted to Le, who was his friend, while handling a pistol. Jones said he panicked after the shooting and fled.
Le died inside his Wilclay Drive home, just off Charlotte Pike, during the afternoon of Dec. 24.
He was as student at Hillwood High School and his death was 2015’s 72st homicide.
Jones was also charged with aggravated burglary in connection to a Dec. 17 break-in at a residence on Comet Drive where electronics and cash were taken.
Stolen items from the home were recovered from Le’s home during the homicide investigation.
