14-year-old hit by car while walking to school in La Vergne


LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 14-year-old student was hit by a car while walking to school Monday morning in La Vergne.

City officials said the accident happened at 6:30 a.m. at the corner of Floyd Mayfield Drive and Sand Hill Road.

The boy suffered injuries to his head and face and was transported to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital for treatment. It’s unclear how serious his injuries are at this time.

Authorities said citations were issued to the driver, whose identity has not been released.
