NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – One man was killed and another seriously injured in a shooting at a north Nashville nightclub early Sunday morning.
It happened at Club Kilimanjaro on Artic Avenue off Brick Church Pike around 5:15 a.m. Metro police identified the victims as Abdinasir Jimale, 38, and 21-year-old John Morrow.
Jimale sustained a gunshot wound to the head, while Morrow was shot in his midsection.
Both were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Morrow has since died from his wound, and Jimale is in critical condition.
According to authorities, the men were shot after Morrow got into an argument with another man.
The gunman has been described as a black man who is approximately 6 feet, 3 inches tall, weighs approximately 300 pounds, and has long dreads past his mid-back.
He reportedly fled in a newer model van with maroon and gray running boards.
Officers are interviewing witnesses and the shooting remains under investigation.
In May 2015, 17-year-old Brandon Williams was shot on the dance floor at the venue. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
According to Metro police, Christian Evans, 19, was taken into custody by SWAT officers in July 2015 and charged with criminal homicide. His charges were later upgraded to one count of premediated/intentional first-degree murder and one count of felony first-degree murder.
The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission ruled in June 2015 that Kilimanjaro nightclub failed to maintain law and order on the premises.
