ROBERTSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN)  – One person was killed and two others were injured Sunday morning in a shooting on Interstate 24 in Robertson County.

According to the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, three people were shot around 2 a.m. along I-24 eastbound near exit 19, close to the Montgomery County line.

Deputies said all three victims were taken to a nearby hospital where one died. The other two remained hospitalized but their conditions were not known. None of their identities have been released at this time.

The area around the scene was closed for several hours as deputies worked their investigation.

Later Sunday, the sheriff’s office said the shooting does not appear to be random, and all three victims are from Nashville and headed back to the city after visiting Clarksville.

No information has been released about a motive or any possible suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
