CMT has set to shop here outside the Schermerhorn Symphony Center for a Summer Block Party.
The party is one of a series of free outdoor events leading up to the CMT Awards show Wednesday night.
The event offered free food from Wendy’s, free music and free carnival games.
Cassadee Pope headlined the party Tuesday afternoon.
“I love this week because I get to connect with fans from all over the world,” Pope told News 2’s Stephanie Langston. “Fans fly in — I heard yesterday people are here from Russia. People are here from Germany. So it’s really fun to be able to connect with them and there are so many opportunities to do that.”
The 2012 Voice winner has a stacked week ahead of her. Pope says working out, eating healthy and coffee keep her going.
“I’m doing like seven signings. I’m doing like five shows, and I have my fan party this week, which is always a treat,” she said. “Actually, I only did it one other time last year and I was like, ‘I have to do that every year.’ So it’s just really about fan engagement, and you know, running into friends, too — artist friends — so it’s amazing.”
CMT will activate another block party on Wednesday from 12-4 p.m.
