Silvia: Nashville Rescue Mission — restoring hope and transforming lives this Easter season.
Silvia: At this very moment there are more than 800 people including mothers with young children at Nashville Rescue Mission, living there because they’re homeless. And they can use your help this Easter season to make their holiday more special.
I’m Silvia Castaneda here with Reverend Glenn Cranfield, who’s the CEO and President of Nashville Rescue Mission. Thanks for being here today.
Rev. Cranfield: Absolutely.
Silvia: Talk to us about how our viewers can make the Easter season more special.
Rev. Cranfield: Well Easter is a wonderful time for everyone and we want our guests to experience that same wonderful experience this Easter. So there are some wonderful things happening and one of the things is this special Easter meal. And so we’re going to be serving over five thousand Easter meals that weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We’re in need of all the things that you can imagine to help prepare that Easter meal: hams, green beans, bread, all those kinds of things. And people can go online and see what the needs are and meet those needs for us.
Silvia: So where can folks drop off donations?
Rev. Cranfield: They can drop that off at 639 Lafayette and our folks will be happy to help them out and bring that in right there.
Silvia: And so if folks want to give year-round — what else can they do to help you out?
Rev. Cranfield: Well, as you can imagine we have needs throughout the year, clothes and blankets and linens and things of that nature. And also volunteer hours. We have 85 different volunteers every single day at the mission to help us do what we do. People can go online at NashvilleRescueMission.org, and see what the most pressing needs are and find a way in which they can help.
Silvia: Reverend Cranfield, thank you so much for being here and sharing all this information with our viewers today.
