MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – The American Heart Association is hosting the Rutherford Heart Walk in Murfreesboro.
Activities will begin at 8 a.m. and the walk begins at 9:15 a.m. at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital on Saturday, September 19.
The event is also working on raising $130,000 in donations. Funds raised go to American Heart Association-funded research, education and community health programs to fight the No. 1 and No. 5 health threats in America, heart disease and stroke.
News 2 anchor Bob Mueller will emcee the walk.
“We walk for those whom heart disease has touched,” said Bob. “For me, it was my grandmother in the 70’s, and my wife six years ago. Keep walking and keep fighting.”
Weekend anchors Joseph Pleasant and Najahe Sherman will be part of the day as well, welcoming participants at the community tent where News 2 will be stationed.
