Friday was a very special News 2 Gives Back Day as we say “Thank You” to firefighters across Middle Tennessee.
The News 2 Gives Back crew, accompanied by Nissan of Cool Springs and Taco Bell, made visits to six different fire stations in five different cities in Middle Tennessee for International Firefighters’ Day, on May 4.
International Firefighters’ Day was started in Australia in 1999 after four brave men lost their lives while battling a fire.
Good Morning Nashville kicked off the celebration at 6 a.m. at Nashville’s Fire Hall #2. Brie Theile was live on the show and on Facebook to say thanks to the men and women who keep us safe.
We also made stops at 8 a.m. in Brentwood, 11 a.m. in Murfreesboro, 1 p.m. in Clarksville, 3 p.m. in East Nashville and we’ll finish the day in Mt. Juliet at 5 p.m.
All of the segments are also on Facebook live. Make sure you have ‘liked’ our WKRN Facebook page so you don’t miss out. We encourage you all to comment and say ‘thank you’ to the firefighters. We promise to relay the message!
